Elise

This piece was commissioned by an elder in my local community as a gift for his sister, Elise. Initially, he wanted something that could hang in her window, but due to some constraints with her living situation, we had to change plans and build something that could sit on her bookshelf. So, I designed and built a custom frame from solid walnut with an LED backlight that can plug into a wall outlet. To diffuse the light of the lightbulb and give the stained glass an evenly lit appearance, I installed an opalescent white pane of glass behind the stained glass.
